Earth Day Nearing

April is Earth month and earth day is nearing April 22nd, how exciting! I wish I was in a bigger city that was participating more with Earth Day and having fun activities but if your in an area that is offering interesting things for this awesometastic day I hope you go enjoy!!! I’m trying to find things in my area and have yet to have any luck, but the other day I realized there is a go green company in the building where I work WHAAAAT how did I never see that lol but I am planning on heading over next week and asking if they may know of any activities near by!

At Starbucks if you bring in a reusable mug on Earth Day you get a free coffee or tea at participating stores! I heart you Starbucks I will be going in with my cup ๐Ÿ˜€

At Target you can get a FREE reusable shopping bag with ANY purchase! I got mine last year eeeeek I am excited lol I will be going in for another one, not that I need it buuuuuut its always good to have extras! This is going on April 17 (TOMORROW), 2011 and it will only be to the first million shoppers! If you visit Target.com it looks like the bags will be different this year AAAAAND Target is featuring their go green products there as well! EEEEk!

START DOING SOME GOOD FOR EARTH MONTH

Now, lets try to get you guys doing some good in earth month! If you visit http://www.earthday.org/ its filled with great info on how you can do your part!

You might want to try joining in on the A Billion Acts of Greenยฎ, this is a campaign to generate a billion acts of environmental service and advocacy!

Make a pledge, I made one ๐Ÿ˜€ see below!

Oh and if you use snail mail dont forget to check out these spiffy stamps with tips to being green on them! I WANT SOME ASAP!

Lastly head on over to http://www.epa.gov/earthday/ and make a pick 5 pledge! I wish I could pick more lol. It gives you the option to print and share your pledge when your done too so that you dont forget about your pledge!

MINE:To help protect the environment, I pledge to:
1.Reduce. Cut back on the amount of ‘stuff’ that could later end up as waste.
2.Reuse. Upcycle! Take something that is disposable and transform it into something of greater use and value.
3.E-cycle. Recycle and/or properly dispose of electronic waste such as computers and other gadgets.
4.Don’t litter! Properly dispose of trash and waste.
5.When purchasing goods, opt for sustainable, recycled or reused resources. Choose items in less packaging.
