Seventh Generation Review and Giveaway

Seventh Generation Review and Giveaway

Last week on Thursday I received a Natural Baby Starter kit from Seventh Generation to review by my request and to also do a giveaway. Awhile back I became aware of these products wile attempting to make my switch to a greener way of life to better the conditions in which my family and I lived our lives! I decided to do my first official review and giveaway on a product that I believed in 100% and wanted to really spread the word about.

Seventh Generation is one of the most eco friendly and trusted brands I have run across, and is one of the first self-declared “socially responsible” companies. They are against the grain in attempts to pursue their idea for a better tomorrow.

The company derives its name from the Great Law of the Iroquois that states, “In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations.” Every time you use a Seventh Generation product you are making a difference by saving natural resources, reducing pollution, keeping toxic chemicals out of the environment and making the world a safer place for this and the next seven generations. (About Seventh Generation)

My baby kit, which will also be the kit that is sent to the winner included: Chlorine Free Diapers, Disinfecting Multi-Surface Spray, Disinfecting Bathroom Spray, Disinfecting Wipes, Chlorine Free Baby Wipes Tub, Baby Wipes Refill, Baby Laundry Detergent, All Purpose Spray, Natural Paper Towels, and a Seventh Generation Recycled Bag.

I think I HAVE to start with the diapers! I am absolutely positively in love with these diapers! In all seriousness, I cant imagine buying any other brand. As some of you know I do 50% cloth diapering and 50% disposable. A good reason I started using cloth was to lessen my baby’s sensitive skin problems resulting in diaper rash but these diapers work just as well! They are made from chlorine free wood pulp fluff, which not only prevents dangerous chlorinated toxins from being released into the environment through the pulp production process, but also takes out harmful toxins that could be at the root of my baby’s sensitive skin issues. They haven’t leaked yet and are a great fit, the tabs have a nice stretch to them leaving my kiddo comfortable as he wiggles and moves!

The chlorine free baby wipes work just as well if not better than any other wipe I’ve bought and they are gentle on my little one’s tiny tush, these will be a regular item on my shopping list from now on.

All the disinfectant sprays and the disinfecting wipes work miraculously on anything and everything I’ve tested them against! EVERYTHING! I didn’t stick just to Seth’s baby areas, I had to test them everywhere including the whole bathroom, the kitchen, tables, even some weird stain I found on the wall. They kill 99.99% of germs and are effective against the influenza A virus. I find that with the products I was sent to test I could probably toss out every harsh chemical filled item hiding under my sink. What blew my mind was how the multi-surface spray cut through grease! I have no complaints what so ever on any one of these products and think that they do the jobs of so many other one purpose, expensive, harsh chemical infested products plaguing the shelves at our stores. The fact that they’re made with natural ingredients should sell you but them actually working better is great!

The baby laundry detergent is greatly appreciated, I had been trying to find something that was gentle on Seth’s skin and something I didn’t have to think twice about using. I couldn’t see why anyone would buy anything else for their kiddies clothes. Hmmmm, buy something that your not too sure is even good for your baby or get something free of harsh chemicals that you know you can trust. You cant say it costs more to go green in this instant its just the smarter choice I think.

Lastly the natural paper towels and recycled bag. We used the paper towels regularly on things we would normally use paper towels with and they worked awesome! Having found them in stores near by I will be replacing our normal paper towels with these! The recycled bag made me happy because I now will never need to use a plastic bag with my surplus of cloth reusable bags. I think for anyone trying to make the switch this is a great bag to start out with!
