When I was told Hostes went down on November 16th 2012 I was sad… I’m not so much of a fatty that it tore me apart but there were a few things my kiddos wouldnt be able to experience if the sweet snacks were no longer available.
Twinkies and Ding Dongs would no longer be around… so.. we will have to recreate our favorite snacks to keep them alive!

Copy-Cat Twinkie
Makes 24 cakes
INGREDIENTS:
Cake:
7 Egg Whites
7 Egg Yolks
1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
4 tablespoons Cornstarch
1 1/2 cups granulated Sugar
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Canola Oil
3/4 cup cold Water
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Filling:
2 Tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 tsp. Vanilla (use clear)
1/2 cup unsalted Butter
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
